in a slump here..i have a new blog where we are playing with French Dolls..BLEUETTE.. we have a pretend Scout Troop.. something to occupy my time and mind

One Holiday over, One more to come..

and i hope that as soon as it is over my mind kicks into some gear that I can live with. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions this month.. I expected it, but somehow i am never prepared to handle the melancholia and anxiety that Christmas brings

OMG>I cant believe that 7 dental imlpants can cost over $20,000.. really! Oral surgeon just under 16,000, then the actual teeth from the Dentist.. i am not doing it, needless to say..so next week i get impressions for 2 partials.. I'm disappointed, but way too realistic to spend $20,000

I registered for Jamie Ridlers new at home collage workshop and works thru it 4 times..its a method that really works for me.. i can really let my emotion out .. ''

WHEEEEEE SNOW in SOUTH LOUISIANA

I have seen snow here!!!

in 1960, 1964, 1974, 1998. 2008 and tonight

It was a whole 70 minutes, at least 200 fluffy big flakes,, hahaha,

I threw snowballs in the road ahead of two vehicles,

got honks and flashing lights in appeciation..

thrill for this 69 year old..

we had a heavy snow last year , accumulation lasted overnight..

it was a record in accumlation.tonight was a record early date..

so where is this Global Warming eh???

What was the HighPoint?
Watching Kadence Doune reach her Second Birthday..she has been an almost indescribable joy in my life

What was the low point
My Mother passed away 4 days before her 89 th birthday. She was in Hospice her last 4 days with all her relatives except her Sister, there day and night. It was a bonding time for our family.

What am I proud of
That is a hard one, I suppose that I have been able to adjust to the everyday changes in the life of a Golden Years Senior!

What was fun
Playing with Kadence, buying her books and reading and most fun has been sharing my 5 story dollhouse and full accessories with her.. she loves "dollhouse, turn light on"

What has changed
Oh my.. kids moving in and out, health up and down.. losing My Mother

What has stayed the same
Unpredictable Louisina weather! boredom. hating to be here alone. bad eating habits and overindulgence in my Dollcollection!!

What did I say yes to
Blogging, sharing

What did I say no to
No more chasing unattainable dreams.trying very hard to learn to say NO> I dont have a solution for your problem.. just to listen and not always offer my advice

What challenged me
Participating in the "Wreck This Journal" group..what fun!!Life was a challenge, fighting anxiety and depression all year

The emotional up and downs of worring about the health and happiness of my Mother

That My parents did what they thought was best for us,that we all make parenting mistakes and that none of us are perfect

will be..celebratingMy Granddaughter's Graduation with her Masters from LSU and new wonderful job..but sadly .. a move to Houston, i will miss her

If this year was a painting what color would it be
Oh my.. a whole lot of blue and grey moods.Some hints of lilac..just adjusting and a full rainbow of Kadence !!

I couldn't get her to pose.. she looks so adorable in her ChinaTown Jammies.. she will be 2 this Satrday, where does the time go?

I know there must me a plan fo me .. I just cant seem to tune into it . My body hurts, my heart hurts , I just am existing in a void, I hate being unproductive

This is a Kish Tulah, 7 1/2 inch, I repainted and a Tibetan Mohair wig made by Deb West, I glued on.. she belongs to Carmen, who is the Board owner of

I was asked to explain what a doll "repaint " is... The original factory paint on a vinyl doll is removed with a solvent.. acetone and others. The face is then repainted with acrylic paint and sealed with a clear acrylic sealer, some use UV clear coats. An enhancement is just painting over the original factory paint in acrylics. This can be removed with rubbing alcohol is you are careful.. and not disturb the original paint. Some factory paint is difficult to remove, it gums up and smears, some leaves a stain. When removing paint you us MANY MANY tips, wet with solvent and just one swipe or dab for each q tip, then use a fresh one.. Some say to wash the face with baking soda ( dissolved in plain water) to balance out the ph after using the removers.. There is a great set of books called FASHION DOLL MAKEOVERS , Jim Faraone if you are interested.

I have repainted and enhanced, Barbies, Sashas, Madame Alexander Cissy(just eyebrows, mouth and eye and cheek color , they have sleepy glass eyes) Tonner Ellowyne Wild and Gene(16 inch fashion dolls) and Kish Rileys World( 7 1/2 inchdolls)Kelly and Tommy( Mattell)Living Dead 7 inch, Men of Honor,(23 inch Military men) and repaired numerous older dolls faces.. and some re- rooting.

The Dolls at my house

Does this crack you up? It did me!!

My GreatGranddaughter is almost 2, I just set the dollhouse up again and she was intrigued!

She walks in those high heels like she was born in them..she wears my Daughters spikes around the house. clip clop!!

The dollhouse is just under 6feet tall..

five rooms and an attic play room

I use it for my Kish dolls that are 7 1/2 inches tall.

I'm still here, just not completely

I guess I need time to spend alone, to heal.. I am grieving. I'm not continuing with The Artist Way,or the Joy Diet and I have deleted my WRECK THIS JOURNAL Blog about Glitz the Goldfish, as it was getting no readers..

Rich , but affordable

I ate at a new Mexican Restaurant and shopped at the adjoining grocery. I've been looking for yellow corn tortillas and no store here sells them , which surprises me as we have a growing Latino population.
My Mother made Tacos for us once a week and we often had friends of my parents over to indulge. At the time( my ancient History, early 1940's) no fresh tortillas were available and Mother had her my Grandmother send canned tortillas from Texas.. We loved them, my Father usually ate 9 or so, Mother 3 or 4 and 2 for me and about the same for company. Poor Mother, in the back corner of a 6x12 foot kitchen, in front of the huge window fan, frying for hours on a hot gas stove.. no airconditioning in South Louisiana I appreciated them then.. and now I cant imagine doing that!! but Tacos represent happier parts of my childhood

Was the Mexican Restaurant good? yes, very good. Did it taste like Moms.. ?Didnt even order tacos, no one can make them like she does.. I dont even try anymore. Will I try to make tacos with my newly found yellow corn tortillas?
Probably not.. I dont want to be disappointed

I wonder if anyone will remember something that I cook.
